Software Engineer (m/w/d) Reliability

As a Software Engineer (m/f/d) Reliability, you will contribute to ensuring the optimal availability of our award-winning BIC Platform software by implementing monitoring techniques and automating installations and updates. Serving as an interface between development and system operations, you will be responsible for monitoring and (continuous) deployment as well as the automation of our software suite. As a team player, you’ll be part of a motivated team and take ownership of tasks, driving them forward independently.

• Define and monitor critical system parameters and efficient deployment concepts

• Design and implement automated deployments and updates

• Serve as a key knowledge holder within the team

• Identify efficiency potentials and promote continuous collaboration between cross-functional teams in system operations and development

• Work closely with development teams, system operations, and product management

• Contribute to shaping the operational infrastructure and security strategies, taking into account the capabilities of cloud service providers

• Successfully completed degree in Computer Science, Business Informatics, Mathematics, or a comparable field
• Experience in monitoring (e.g., Elasticsearch, Prometheus), container orchestration (e.g., Docker Compose, Kubernetes), and Infrastructure as Code (e.g., Terraform, Ansible)
• Solid knowledge of software development (e.g., Java, Python, JavaScript, Node.js, REST APIs) as well as best practices such as Clean Code, unit testing, and conducting code reviews
• Enthusiasm for new challenges and a goal-oriented approach to implementing solutions
• Expertise in Linux-based IT server systems and networks
• Knowledge of cloud systems such as AWS and Azure, as well as an interest in IT security, is an advantage
• Strong team spirit
• Good command of both written and spoken German and English
